I designed this bracelet with my friend Greta when we were still studying in 2009. Our label was called Hemming & Willström and we had a few other products also made from cassette tape.

ReplyDeleteKiitos! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is very cool, finally something to do with cassettes :)
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm glad you like it! :)
DeleteI love things made with tapes, this is a great new look!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
DeleteFantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support! :)
DeleteThat's fabulous-I'd really like to know how you made the groovy night purse out of the tape!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorna! We had an industrial weaving machine at school which we used to make the fabric. (But I think that normal weaving loom can be used also to make the fabric.) Then I attached the fabric to metal frame with hand stitches. I still have few pieces of the fabric, maybe I could make a DIY from this purse too. :)
DeleteHow did u bend the tapes in water and how long is that process??
ReplyDeleteHey Raynia!
DeleteWe put a tin can in VERY hot water and pressed the cassette against it. The time we spent with one cassette was approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
We found out that there is a difference between cassettes. From one thrift store we found a bunch of cassettes which probably were all made of exactly same materials, so those cassettes bent well and some other cassettes didn't.
I hope this helps! Feel free to ask more if you need more info! :)
